Can I manually delete files in <confluence_home>/temp?

This directory contains files from over a month ago and taking up 54GB of sapce, running the scheduled job to clean temp directory doesn't clean them out. They are of type htmlexport-20160901-...

Stop Confluence before you do it, then yes.
