Can I create a "pick-list" for labels on a template in Confluence

Hello Community!

I am creating a new Knowledge Base space. As a part of this space I am creating a KB template (KCS style). In the past we have run into the issue of having several labels that all mean the same thing (ex. report, reports, reporting). To solve for this I would like to create a "pick-list" of labels for people to choose from while creating a KB article from this template that would reflect our internal taxonomy. Is there a macro to support this?

I am open to other ideas of how to solve this issue as well.

Hi Libby,

There may be an add-on to help you with that in Marketplace.

For example, Labels Cage allows you to force users to choose from a predefined set of labels. 

Have a look at the other add-ons from the Marketplace link; perhaps one there has the exact functionality you need?

We currently also have a feature request that might interest you. You can vote on it if you find it useful and watch in order to be updated of any changes:

Lastly, there was previously a feature request for what you are asking for exactly, but we have decided not to implement this in the near future:

Hi Shannon, I am attempting to find information on the Labels Cage space, but cannot get any of the documentation to load. It looks like they have not updated their product in a year or so. Is this still a viable solution on the Marketplace?

Hi Libby,

According to their listing, Labels Cage is expected to support Confluence versions 6.0.1 - 6.15.3.

I would recommend contacting the company directly from their vendor page in Marketplace. There, you will be able to find an email address for them. Hopefully this is still in use!
