Hi,
I would like to display code taken from an external file (say test.py in my github repo) and display it in a "know how" article. Is that possible?
Hello, Gister: GitHub Gist Macro for Confluence does that if the external file is a Gist. Here's an example.

@Caterina Lani just to get an idea about your concern,
alternatively you can insert your file through a confluence link .
Or insert your code inside code block macro . you can apply those option inside a how to article too.

Hi Alana,
I am trying to add some code, but I would like a more automated way than using the code block macro. I would like to show it as code, but through some embedding mechanism (rather than copy+paste) that takes it from my repo. is that possible?
Thanks
Caterina

@Caterina Lani , to the best of my knowledge it is not possible with default confluence.
But below plugins might help you,
