Hello everybody,
unfortunately the documentation is available only in english but our version is in german. So, it is very unconvenient to find the point of the menu mentuioned in the documentation.
Actually I want to upgrade confluence and curious how to do that. I want to backup the system before and do not know how to do this - the [backup and restore] point I could not find.
So, I wonder if there is a checklist or documentation available to upgrade the system (with backup the system before upgrading it). Is the upgrade be done over the web interface or do I have to unpack a Zip-file and overwrite th current version (we are using a linux installation).
Thanks for any help

Hi Manfred!
There are two supported methods to upgrade Confluence: manually or using an installer. The manual method basically involves downloading the newest version of Confluence, then running it against your existing Confluence Home directory. The installer method uses an installer to automate most of this process. The pages below outline the full steps for completing each method:
In either case, I recommend closely following the steps outlined in the documentation linked above, which provides detailed instructions and things to look out for to ensure a successful upgrade. And most importantly, be sure to test all changes in a staging environment before upgrading production to avoid any potential outages.
I hope this helps!

Hi Zak,
thanks for your answer. I think I prefer the manual installation; sounds easy as it seams just to unpack a zip file to the install dir of confluence.
I will follow the guide step by step and doing a snapshot in case of running in any dificulties.
thx
Manfred
