Atlassian Isolated Cloud - Question List

Hello Atlassian Team,

Now that Isolated Cloud is announced for 2026, it would be great to get more insights under the hood. So here my most burning questions:

1. Automation is currently processing data in the US even though data residency is pinned to another location - will Automation be located in the isolated cloud and as such, data processing pinable?
2. Rovo AI is currently processing data in the US -> Same question, will it run in the isolated cloud so that data processing is pinable?
3. Emails from and to Jira/Confluence/Guard are processed by US/EU Servers at random right now -> will the email processing be inside the isolated cloud - or will organizations be able to attach their own email server again?
4. In border terms, is there a documented page similar to this one here, where isolated cloud data residency and data processing can be compared to the public cloud offering: https://support.atlassian.com/security-and-access-policies/docs/understand-data-residency/
5. The documentation here points out, that only users via IdP can login to the isolated cloud site: https://confluence.atlassian.com/enterprise/prepare-to-migrate-to-atlassian-isolated-cloud-1738146689.html . What login possibilities are available for Jira Service Management Customers?
6. Will the migration from a customers DC environment run through US servers centrally, or dedicated resources inside the isolated cloud environment?
7. Will it be possible to move sites/orgs from the public cloud to the isolated cloud?
8. If sites/orgs are moved from public to isolated cloud, how well is the integration with 3rd Party App Vendors to ensure a smooth migration path for compatible apps?
9. Is there a roadmap for other Atlassian Apps to follow into the isolated cloud? Analytics, Compass, JPD, Bitbucket, Focus, etc.? If yes, can you share this roadmap?
10. Can the customer provide his/her own encryption key for the isolated cloud?
11. What backup possibilities will there be for the isolated cloud next to the current Atlassian Backup offering? Will apps like Revyz, HYCU, Rewind and Gitprotect work with the isolated cloud?
12. Will the customer be able to create separate IP-Allowlists for different sites in their isolated cloud? E.g.: Allow 1 Site only from 1 IP, and block the other site from that same IP (real customer requirement)
13. Will API throttling and AI Token Limits be different in the isolated cloud? Higher or lower?
14. Will the customer be able provide own AWS hardware to increase speed of the application and/or increase API and AI limits?
15. From which user-tier will Isolated Cloud be offered?
16. What will be the approximate price point for 1000 Jira and 1000 Confluence Users compared to the Public Cloud offering?

• Will Atlassian provide technical guidelines for Marketplace Partners to make their apps compatible with isolated cloud (e.g., restrictions on external services, data egress, AI usage)?

• Will there be sandbox or partner test environments available for validating migrations and integrations before moving customers into isolated cloud?

• How will support responsibilities be split between Atlassian and Solution Partners for isolated cloud customers?

• Will Atlassian provide a partner-specific roadmap or early access program for isolated cloud features?

I am sure not all of these can be answered right now - but it would be great to get a bit deeper insights into the offering.

Thank you for putting together this list. It’s very helpful and covers many important aspects of the upcoming isolated cloud offering.

From a marketplace partner point of view, I would add a few additional questions:

• Will Atlassian provide technical guidelines for Marketplace Partners to make their apps compatible with isolated cloud (e.g., restrictions on external services, data egress, AI usage)?

• Will there be sandbox or partner test environments available for validating migrations and integrations before moving customers into isolated cloud?

• How will support responsibilities be split between Atlassian and Solution Partners for isolated cloud customers?

• Will Atlassian provide a partner-specific roadmap or early access program for isolated cloud features?

I think these points could help clarify how the ecosystem will evolve around isolated cloud as well. Thank you!
