Mac OS 10.15.4. Latest version of all browsers.

The Companion App is not recognised as being present by any of the browsers mentioned above. I have tried uninstalling/installing the app, quitting and restarting the browsers but to no avail. I still get the instruction to download the app.

Is there a workaround?

Hi @charlesvickers ,

I would just like to confirm, are you using Confluence Cloud? Also, which version of Companion are you using?

It is a current known limitation that Companion does not work with some browsers, but Chrome should work.

Please see the following blog post for details about the current limitation:

https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-articles/The-Companion-app-on-Confluence-Cloud/ba-p/1272354

The best thing to do here to diagnose the problem would be to share the "companion.log" file that can be found by clicking the Companion taskbar icon (Atlassian logo) and then from the menu, clicking "View logs". Please do a quick scan through of the log and share any errors that you can see. However, I understand if you don't want to share this log file on community, therefore I would suggest raising a support case, then support will be able to look through the entire log file.

Chrome Version 83.0.4103.97 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Companion App Version 1.1.0

Mac v≈10.15.4

Hi

I have tried all the combinations of deleting, uploading and so on but all I get when I click on the companion "Edit" menu is a whirling circle.

I assume therefore that there is no way of attaching a document in Confluence and editing it despite the publicity to the contrary.

I have added the document to a page and can edit it but all my layout (page breaks, TOC amd so on) have been lost.

Oh Well, back to Google Docs!

Regards

Charles
