Is it possible for our "customers" to view Jira issues in Confluence? We are on the cloud instance - Service Desk. We are allowing customers who signed up as customers in our Jira to submit requests via the Jira potal so they have an account. But not a license.

Hi Brian,

Welcome to Community; it's nice to have you!

The Jira project permissions are what determines which issues a user can view in the Jira issues macro. Keep in mind this uses the Jira core permissions themselves, and not any Jira Service Desk permissions.

So if the Jira project is locked down to only Jira users, then the user needs a Jira license when logged into Confluence in order to see it.

If you were to set the permissions in the project to allow anonymous users to browse the projects, and as long as the Confluence page is also open to anonymous users, then anyone not logged in would be able to view the issues.

Note that if the user is logged in as a Jira Service Desk customer, then they are not considered to be anonymous and will not be able to browser using anonymous permissions.

I hope that clarifies things, but do let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Shannon
