Are there any special Characters not supported in Confluence?

We have had some problems in the past with special characters in Confluence when updating a Confluence page with a JIRA Summary value when it had special characters in it. Is there a comprehensive list of special characters that do not work in Confluence?

We are running Confluence 5.8.6/Server Version
