Hello all,
Is there a Confluence Marketplace App or a Macro that converts an attached PDF file into text in the same Confluence page?
Thank you.

Hi Doods,
That’s a great question — unfortunately, Confluence Cloud doesn’t natively support converting PDF attachments directly into editable page content. However, there are a few reliable approaches depending on what you need 👇
✅ Option 1 – Use a Marketplace App (recommended)
You can use apps that extract or import PDF content as Confluence text or tables.
Some popular ones include:

⚙️ Option 2 – Use an external OCR + automation integration
If your goal is to automatically insert PDF text into a Confluence page,
you can combine tools via Zapier or Make (Integromat):
This requires a bit of setup but works perfectly for recurring workflows.
🚫 No native macro
There’s currently no built-in Confluence macro that reads and renders the contents of an attached PDF inline as editable text — the PDF viewer macro only displays the file visually, it doesn’t convert it.
I think the option to install a Confluence app will work best here.

Thank you @Jason U.
I will be testing this Confluence app, PDF importer | Atlassian Marketplace.
Cheers!
