Hello there!

As I understand, you are trying to disable the Analytics functionality in Confluence.

I would first start by checking if the Analytic Plugin is actually enabled in your instance:

  1. Click Cog Icon
  2. Select Manage Addons
  3. Select All Addons
  4. Search for Analytics
  5. Check if the Analytics Client Plugin is present and enabled

This is not a normal behaviour for Confluence. With this in mind we could try to clear the plugin cache:

  1.  Shutdown Confluence
    1. Make sure that the process is not running
    2. You can check that with ps -aux | grep confluence in Linux and via the Process manager in Windows
  2.  Go to <confluence-home>
  3. Remove the following folders:
    1. <confluence-home>/bundled-plugins
    2. <confluence-home>/plugins-cache
    3. <confluence-home>/plugins-osgi-cache
    4. <confluence-home>/plugins-temp
    5. <confluence-home>/bundled-plugins_language
  4.  Start Confluence
  5. This startup might take a little longer than usual due to the cache being rebuild

Confluence plugin cache might get corrupt along the way or get out of sync. This is why we can start by trying this. Here is more information on the process:

How to clear Confluence plugin cache

Now I would like to as a few questions for clarification on this situation:

  1. When is this error triggered, exactly?
    1. Is it when we access the provided URL?
    2. Is it when we issue a change to the settings?
    3. Is it when we try to save the new settings?
  2. Has this worked at some point in the past?
  3. Was there any change applied to your instance prior to this issue?

Looking forward to your reply Sven!

Hi Diego,

many thanks for your detailed feedback and support.

For data protection reasons I would like to disable the "Analytics" function implemented by Confluence itself (Confluence Administration/Analytics). We didn't install a separate plug-in for this, so I can't follow your suggestions.

This problem occurs when I want to change the setting. In the admin GUI of Confluence (via the user client) I get the message: "The configuration change could not be saved, check your connection to the server".
If I go directly to our server and access Confluence from there I get the error I had inserted as a screenshot.

My guess is that it is somehow related to the configuration and the accessible addresses. Perhaps there is also a configuration file in the installation itself that can be modified to disable this option (Analytics).

I am looking forward to your feedback
