Add ons to facilitate content replication between two Confluence Instances

Hi!   Has anyone found or is using an add on to facilitate content replication between two Confluence Cloud instances?

The only one I was able to find Space Sync for Confluence .

Is anyone using this or any other add on?   If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts as to how well they perform.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Scott Derderian

I first used the app when it was still beta in November 2022. To me it was a game changer.

I was migrating a lot of product docs into a dedicated Confluence site so I used the app first to move content between the sites, then to sync two spaces between two sites. Both ways.

Over the years, I advised users on this community to use it in multiple scenarios and recommended the app.

What I like:

  • site to site sync (as opposed to just space to space on a single site)
  • bidirectional sync (not just soure -> target)
  • permissions control
  • link resolution (links between pages in Space A resolve to links between pages in Space B)
  • space structure is preserved
  • app uses Confluence page statuses - you can configure the app to automatically sync pages upon application of a specific status. Example: IF Page -> Approved THEN Sync
  • you can filter which pages are synced by labels
  • and you can setup multiple sync process per space
  • tha app works with another Ricksoft's app (Pages Manager) or other apps that allow you to change page status in bulk. So you can literally trigger sync of multiple pages in one go.

(@Victor Law - Ricksoft - I haven't used the app actively in a couple of months so I hope my notes are correct :) )

As far as I know, this is the only app that sync spaces between/among Confluence sites.

On a more personal note, I'm really a fan of using two space setups for content management, see my Community article on the subject.

Also, my company (K15t) makes an app to sync two Jiras - Backbone Sync for Jira - and I can see a multitenant setup in which two Conflunce and two Jira spaces are synced constantly as work progresses.

I'm not affiliated with Ricksoft (except for friendly relationship :) )

Hi @Scott Derderian

Could you share a bit more about your use case and requirements?

  • Are both Confluence instances Cloud, or is this a migration or synchronization between DC and Cloud?
  • Do you need one-time content copying, scheduled synchronization, or continuous replication?
  • Are you looking to synchronize individual pages, entire spaces, attachments, labels, permissions, or all of the above?
  • Is the synchronization intended to be one-way or bidirectional?

As the vendor behind Space Sync for Confluence, we have worked with many organizations that need to keep content synchronized across multiple Confluence environments. Continuous synchronization and content replication between separate Confluence sites are among the primary use cases we support, including:

  • Cloud ↔ Cloud synchronization
  • Data Center → Cloud synchronization
  • Content replication from one space to another within the same site
  • Multi-instance content distribution and replication scenarios

The best approach depends heavily on your specific requirements. If you can provide additional details about your environment and what you're trying to achieve, my team at Ricksoft and I are happy to suggest potential options and considerations.

If you would like to see how this works in practice, you're welcome to start a free trial or book a demo with our team. We would be happy to learn more about your requirements and discuss whether our solution would be a good fit.

Disclosure: I work for Ricksoft, the vendor of Space Sync for Confluence.

Thank you.

I don't understand @Kris Klima _K15t_ the specific need to then change statues, but it seems like you are saying that some cleanup/bulk editing is needed after the sync. This last part I understand well. I need to read the post you shared from 2025 more carefully.

app works with another Ricksoft's app (Pages Manager) or other apps that allow you to change page status in bulk. So you can literally trigger sync of multiple pages in one go.

I'll mention our app Space Content Manager for bulk editing (content tree, find and replace, status, labels, links and coming soon attachments).

@Scott Derderian if you are willing, share more about your use case, I would be interested to read it.
