Hi guys, I have a problem on open the attachment link via e-mail or excel

after I copied the link, I can't open it directly, it said that not permitted

what is the right way to copy the attachment file link

for example,

http://wiki.sanookonline.co.th/download/attachments/6324531/SC02-sportsanookcom_Report.pdf?version=1&modificationDate=1379390427600&api=v2

this link can open if I copy and paste on the browser

but if I opened via Microsoft Excel, it shown the not permitted window

what should I do? because I really need to use the link to be open via e-mail(outlook) or excel

Hi,

I'm afraid to say that this is a bug (CONF-29144). This bug appears when youare directly being linked to an attachment.

I would like to recommend you to watch the ticket for any updates. I would also recommend you to vote for this issue.

Cheers,

Saleh

So quick question, Did you mean Excel or Outlook?

I don't think the bug CONF-29144 applies to you because you state that if you copy and paste it into the browser it works.

So I think the following is your problem. When you visit a link from email are you taken to a new browser? Do you have the same problem if you log in to that browser and then click the link?

Are you trying to render that link from inside some kind of preview panel? If so the problem is going to be that whatever browser that you are using to try to open that link with will need to hold an authentication token. If you are trying to access content through a preview pane that pane is a browser as well and will have needed to long into Confluence before being able to access the content.

The fact that the link works when placed in a browser suggests that is is not a problem with Confluence itself but likely the mechanism of how you are trying to reach that content.
