404 Error when trying to add a user to an existing restricted space/page

I forgot to add a couple of my collegues to restricted pages i created.  But they're getting a 404 error.  I see they have access, but they can't see it.

If i create a new restricted space/page and add them from the get-go, they can see the space. 

Please help!

  Please verify they have access to both the space and the page (parent page if permissions are inherited). Sounds like the permissions are lacking in one or the other.

It's almost like the user is cached...so i had them clear cache, but still no cigar.
