Automations in Confluence is very powerful and useful. The only reason I don't use it currently is the redicously low numbers of automations you can run per month on standard (100/month).
Even with a userbase of only 150 people it doesn't make sense to use automation since the functionality only will work a couple of days each month before hitting the limit.

Auto-archiving old pages: Schedule rules to archive pages that haven’t been viewed or updated within a specific timeframe.
Auto-labeling for categorization: Automatically add labels based on content characteristics to boost discoverability and consistency.
Template-based page creation: Automatically generate pages from predefined templates when new spaces are created or specific triggers fire. I like the Automated Meeting Notes.
2. Keeping Teams Informed and Aligned
Automated notifications: Dispatch emails or Slack Teams messages when key events occur—such as when a meeting notes page is published or tasks become overdue.
Automatically "nudge" team members about unfinished tasks on specified schedules.
3. Standardizing Team Processes
Consistent page structure: Auto-create pages with defined structures and checklists to ensure alignment across teams.
Automated workflows: Bundle actions, like updating permissions, emailing teams, and changing page states, into single-click automation buttons for streamlined approvals.

Thanks for the insightful session! I’m excited to create an automation that sends a weekly digest of recently updated incident-response pages to our team space. It’s a great way to keep everyone aligned without extra manual effort.
Confluence automation lets you streamline repetitive tasks like page creation, notifications, and content updates without manual effort. I use it to auto create meeting notes from templates and send reminders to the right team.

The livestream video is over a year old now, but I still found it informative. I've used Automation in Jira/JSM for a few years now, but there has not been much call for Automation in Confluence. I see many opportunities for process improvement looking at the rule templates available in Confluence.
I have to agree with a previous commenter that the usage limit is quite low for Free and Standard plans, particularly considering that a user is the Space Admin for their personal space which gives them access to generate Automation rules to their heart's content. That could easily blow up a subscription's usage limit.

I agree with many of the commentors regarding the low usage limit amounts for the Standard license level. While it is expected to have lower limits for Free licensing, having something tied to user counts would be helpful for Standard...rather than driving people toward higher license levels. Better still, consider additional licensing models for automation usage, such as described in this JAC suggestion.
With those, more customers could use automation to better integrate Confluence, Jira, and JSM, creating rules to automatically clean / maintain their content, add automated documentation of rules themselves within Confluence, etc.
