The "Be the Help that you Seek" guideline really spoke to me. Leading by example, walk the talk, inspire others, servant leadership ... all these principles are packaged together in this one statement. I commend the Atlassian Community for putting strong guidelines together to keep this community healthy, striving, and a safe place for everyone. Thank you.
Planting trees is a good way to overpass my shyness and participate a little bit more in the community ^^ My goal is to hit 1000 before going on holidays tomorrow noon.
We are part of a really great community I see everyone is motivated to plant a lot of trees :)
Earning the Mindful Member badge taught community members the importance of active listening and respectful engagement. Key takeaways include:
Genuine Helpfulness: The core value is supporting each other, not just providing answers. The principle "Be the help you seek" resonated deeply, fostering a mindset of giving back.
Meaningful Connection: Members value connecting authentically, as highlighted by the "Connect as a Community" principle.
Diverse Contributions: There's a strong appreciation that value is not limited to technical skill; organizing events and connecting people are also seen as vital contributions.
Ultimately, while the badge serves as an entry point, members stay for the community values that create a safe, supportive, and collaborative team environment.
I didn't know about necroposting. Sounds more macabre than it really is, and makes sense in some way. I think I already violated this in the past, though, and now I know not do it any more ;)
One point that resonated a lot with me is 'Balance your participation by being both a seeker of support and a provider of information when you feel ready.'
"Be The Help You Seek" is definitely my favourite. If I finally figure something out after a struggle, I’d rather just share it so nobody else has to go through the same hassle. And hey, maybe next time I’m stuck, someone will return the favour. Simple and fair!
I love the blog posts and challenges. Learned more about the community forum guidelines; something that made me think, these values should be applied everywhere, not just in the Atlassian ecosystem. Just to be a kind and mindful person.
This quiz felt like a real 'I'm not a robot' moment! It reminded me how often we skip terms blindly. We need more of this—quick checks before accepting, not just a checkbox.
