I really appreciate how the Atlassian Community emphasizes respect, safety, and authenticity. Their clear Rules of Engagement help create a positive and inclusive space for everyone to learn, share, and grow together.
Earning the Mindful Member badge reminded me how powerful active listening and respectful responses can be. What really resonated was the emphasis on being genuinely helpful — it’s about uplifting others, not just fixing issues. As a community group leader, I value how these principles foster a positive and supportive space. Grateful to be part of such a thoughtful community.
As corny as it may seem, but this community would not be without its members, that is what is makes it so good and helpful. Based on this, as a warm place that I can come to, my say about the biggest takeaway is the: Be the help you seek!
One key takeaway I had while earning the badge was the importance of being respectful and assuming good intent in discussions. It really stood out to me how much the community values kindness and constructive feedback—something I definitely want to carry into all my posts and replies!
Big shoutout to the awesome Rules of Engagement, they really help keep the community supportive and kind!! One big takeaway for me was ‘Connect as a community’, it shows how powerful it is when we share, learn, and lift each other up. That’s what makes this space so special
While reading the community guidelines, I came across "Be the Help You Seek", and I must say it's one of my favorite values — one that every community should adopt.
If we look at the primary reason for forming a community, it's not just to share news or updates, but also to help others. This value — helping someone to be helped in return — beautifully reflects the chain every community should follow. It makes the community not only a place for learning but also for teaching how to support others.
Just finished the quiz — really enjoyed it! 😊 It’s such a simple but effective way to reconnect with what makes this community awesome. Loved how it made me think, not just click. Grateful to be part of a space that values respect, support, and good vibes all around. And yes… the shiny badge is a nice bonus too! 😄

One of the Community Values I appreciated the most is “Be The Help You Seek.” I think it's a powerful mindset for building community — offering the kind of help you’d like to receive. In my daily work, whether with clients or in forums, I try to apply this by being clear, sharing context, and acknowledging when someone’s answer helps me.
@Barbara Szczesniak I think between this and the #LikesForTrees discussions, I've transitioned from I'm New Here to Contributor. I'm super psyched about it!!
That's really a smart quiz for this smart community that we are building together, not alone. It reminds me of the call that I had when I was onboarding as a community champion. Good to have a hands-on understanding of the guidelines and the rules of the community and the recap of everything we do every day to get a fair idea of what to do and what not to do in this community.
Love the idea of "Be The Help You Seek". Forums work best when people are as active in seeking assistance and obtaining good information as they are in providing that same assistance to those in need.
