📊 Value Analytics survey – We want your feedback!

Hi, community! We’re excited to announce another round of our quarterly Value Analytics Survey. Your experience and feedback are at the heart of our community, and this survey is a key way for us to understand what’s working well and where we can improve.

What is the Value Analytics survey?

The Value Analytics Survey is a short, quarterly questionnaire that appears as a pop-up when you visit the Atlassian Community forums. It’s designed to gather your honest feedback about your experience, the value you receive from our resources, and how we can better support you.

What feedback are we looking for?

This survey is run by the Community Management team and is focused only on your experience with the Community forums. We’re not able to make changes to Atlassian products or apps like Jira or Confluence. While we do pass along product feedback to the right teams, please use this survey to share your thoughts specifically about the Community forums.

We want to hear what’s working well, too!

We definitely want to hear what is great about your experience, not just where we can improve. Your positive feedback helps us understand what to keep doing and what makes our community special for you.

How do we use the data?

Your responses help us:

  • Identify what features and content are most valuable to you
  • Prioritize improvements and new features based on real member needs
  • Ensure our community continues to deliver relevant, high-quality experiences

All survey data is aggregated and anonymized. We use it solely to enhance our platform and better serve you—your privacy is always respected.

Why is this important?

Your voice shapes the future of our community. By participating, you help us:

  • Make data-driven decisions that reflect your needs
  • Keep our resources up-to-date and useful
  • Foster a community that grows and evolves with its members

âť“ FAQ

Some members have noticed the survey pop-up reappearing even after completing it. This is due to how your browser stores information:

Q: Why do I keep getting the survey pop-up?
A: The survey uses browser cookies to remember if you’ve already seen or completed it. If you clear your cookies, your browser forgets this information, and the survey may appear again. You can simply close the pop-up.

🙌 How else can you help us improve the experience?

One consistent piece of feedback surfaced by the Value Analytics survey is that old and outdated content gets in the way of finding what you need - and we’ve increased our efforts to clean up that content. The “helpfulness score” of our content has been steadily increasing since then.

Here are two quick ways you can help:

  • Use the “Was this helpful?” Yes/No buttons at the bottom of our articles and resources. Your quick feedback lets us know what’s helpful and what might need attention.

  • Report old and outdated content by using the “Report to moderators” option. This helps us quickly review and update or remove old information, ensuring our community resources stay accurate and relevant.

Hi @SilkeS

Thanks to you and the team for the opportunity to provide feedback!  For future surveys, please consider increasing the character count for comments; I had to triage mine by 80% to fit in the 500 chars :^)

Kind regards,
Bill

What was the purpose of your visit to the Atlassian Community?

  •  Performed a search looking for an answer to a question that led me here
  •  Researching an Atlassian product before trial/purchase
  •  I came to check for new questions I could help answer or discussions to participate in
  •  To ask a question before submitting a support ticket
  •  Received a email notification for something I was interested in

"None of the above" is missing.

I came to ensure I hadn't missed a notification as I'd expected some sort of response to my follow-up questions.

@SilkeS, I've yet to observe the prompt appear. Consequently, does no permanent home for forum feature requests exist? I ask per forums/Jira-questions/How-can-one-access-the-source-editor-in-Cloud/qaq-p/3116549#M1150538. If I privately e-mail communitymanagers@atlassian.com, no other user can comment to assist in improving the idea and demonstrating support.

@Mr_ Beedell_ Roke Julian Lockhart _RJLB_

Thank you for your question! Currently, there isn’t a dedicated space for forums feature requests or feedback. We encourage members to leave feedback on our release notes announcements in this group.

Regarding the feedback survey, it only runs for a short time and closes automatically after reaching a set number of responses. Sorry you missed our quarterly survey! If you have feedback, please feel free to share it here.

@SilkeS, thanks. In that case, my feedback is that:

  1. A dedicated place for feedback posts should exist, such that they can be explicitly triaged. JIRA would be ideal.
  2. As an example of what would be best reported to such a hypothetical issue tracker, my own name breaks the list renderer:Screenshot_20251001-101320.png

Should I report this via e-mail, too?

@Mr_ Beedell_ Roke Julian Lockhart _RJLB_ If you make your browser window really narrow and set your zoom to over 100%, yes, your name will wrap like that. There's nothing else for it to do. Maybe you are viewing on a phone or other small device where you cannot control the size of the display?

@Barbara Szczesniak, indeed, that's at 100% scale with no typeface overrides, on org.mozilla.fenix 145.0a1, on an OEM distribution of AOSP 15. However, I do not believe that it would be acceptable regardless, considering that all other threaded discussion platforms I utilise have solved it.

Hey @Mr_ Beedell_ Roke Julian Lockhart _RJLB_

Thank you so much for your feedback and for sharing your interest in having a dedicated space for forums feedback. We appreciate your engagement and suggestions—they help us make the community better for everyone!

We’ll add your idea to our wishlist for future forums improvements.

Also, I wanted to let you know that I’ve opened an internal ticket regarding the issue with the username breaking the list renderer.

Thanks again for helping us improve the community experience!

Hey @Bill Sheboy

Thanks so much for your suggestion about the 500 character limit on our Value Analytics Survey!

I checked with our platform vendor, and right now it’s not possible to increase the limit. They’ll let us know if that changes in the future.

We really appreciate your feedback—if you have more to share, feel free to post it here anytime.
