I have a filetype unknown to git that contains just plain text. If I change it to extension .txt I am able to see the diff with the built-in diff tool in Sourcetree. But unfortunately I am not allowed to change the filetype. Is there a way I can set my configuration to recognize this custom filetype as a text file and, thus use it in the diff tool ?
