generating a sshKey:the used Email-address has to be an existing email-address?

When generating a ssh-Key, I have to set a Emailaddress. This email-address has to be an existing email-address or can it be a fantasy emailaddress with correct syntax,

ex,.:

ssh-keygen -t rsa -C "friend@company.com

(company is changed to an existing company name)

I've reviewed the instructions about how to create an SSH key for Bitbucket Cloud, but there doesn't seem to be a step where you need to add an email address. Were you referring to a different set of instructions?
