error 429 when 'composer update'

I am receiving an error 429 (too many requests) when I run 'composer update' on my project.

It occurs when it tries to download some private repositories.

I am using the auth.json file for .composer, which includes my consumer-key, consumer-secret, access-token, and access-token-expiration.

In my composer.json file, my repositories are configured as follows:

{ "type": "vcs", "url": "https://bitbucket.org/******.git" }

I have checked and I am under the limit of 60,000 requests per hour. Can anyone suggest a possible reason why I am receiving this error?

G'day, and welcome to the community!

I believe the composer update downloads the package via API, not through git. So if it goes through API, then the access uses  /2.0/repositories/*  endpoint, and this is limited to only 1,000 requests per hour; Bitbucket request limit
