developer invitation

Chad Nguyen May 2, 2018

I thought once I invite developer to bitbucket he could download code base to his workstation and work on my project.  Once he complete he could then upload back to bitbucket and we will push for production.  Why he still need to get access to my database and files on my server?  Even though i gave him access to my bitbucket, do I still need to give him credential username and password to my server for DB access?

thanks

Hi Chad! What do you mean by inviting? Are you using Bitbucket Server or Cloud? Do you mean you're granting them write permissions to your repo? Or only to your Bitbucket instance? He doesn't need access to the files on your local machine, he just needs write permissions to your repo in Bitbucket.

Let us know!

Hi Ana, thank you for your support.  Yes, I want to give him write permissions to my repo Bitbucket so he can download and work on new site feature.  Do you have the workflow how Bitbucket work and how it being deploy to my server?
