authentication is failing

when i create app passwort to clone my repository, the password does not work. What can i do? I just get an Authentication failed error

Welcome to the Community!

As per the Bitbucket communication, Atlassian account passwords are deprecated for Bitbucket API calls and HTTPS git activity (clone, push, pull and fetch), and are being replaced by App Passwords.

• You will have to use your App Password alongside your username separated with a ":" character.
• Therefore if you are authenticating to GIT over HTTPS to perform actions you will need to update your remote URLs to include the App Password:
  

  git remote set-url origin https://USERNAME:APP_PASSWORD@bitbucket.org/username/reposlug.git

• The same applies when performing git clone:
  

  git clone https://USERNAME:APP_PASSWORD@bitbucket.org/username/reposlug.git

If this fails, can you attempt to use SSH to authenticate and see if the same occurs?
