Hello,

In the menu User Directories, when we want to configure LDAP User Directory, for Microsoft Active Directory.

In the part: LDAP permission.

Why there is no option to choose the Red-Write permission like it is possible in Confluence and Jira?

describe here:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucketserver/connecting-bitbucket-server-to-an-existing-ldap-directory-776640403.html

Compare to that:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver0710/connecting-to-an-ldap-directory-953144427.html

Section LDAP permission

Best regards,

Brice

Hi Brice,

If you are running User Management inside Bitbucket it is impossible to configure external directories as read/write. This is a limitation with Bitbucket.

For more functionalities of running User Management in Bitbucket please refer to Connect Bitbucket Server to external user directories

Hi Brice,

We understand your concern of Bitbucket Server not having both read/write option to external directories. This is because Bitbucket server is designed specifically to focus on Version Control Management.

However, you can go ahead and open a feature request on open issues and it will be considered based on our Implementation of New Features Policy: Implementation of New Features Policy
