Software can and will go bump in the night. The bitbucket team is usually good at fixing things when to do go bump for them - check https://status.bitbucket.org .

 

it sounds like you're looking at a reason to switch to git lab but it will probably be more expensive (unless you've got an ops team sitting around) and even that doesn't protect you from the outages (you just have to take care of it).
