I’m unable to complete the Bitbucket MFA/two-step verification setup required for the ISO certification audit because Bitbucket is not sending the verification email needed to proceed.

What has been tried so far

  • Attempted setup multiple times
  • Tried in different browsers (Safari and Chrome)
  • Confirmed email notifications are enabled
  • Checked for emails from notifications-noreply@bitbucket.org
  • Waited/retried over time, but email still never arrived

Hello @Shareer

The first thing that stands out is the email address you are watching.

For this flow, Bitbucket is using your Atlassian account, and Atlassian’s current docs say the verification mail comes from @am.atlassian.com, not from notifications-noreply@bitbucket.org. Bitbucket’s 2-step setup also requires a confirmed Atlassian account email before you can finish enabling it.

So check spam/junk for mail from noreply+…@am.atlassian.com, then use the resend verification option again. If this is a company address, also check whether your mail admin is blocking @am.atlassian.com. Atlassian lists those as the normal checks for missing verification mail.

If the mail still never arrives after that, this needs to go to Atlassian Support, because nobody in the community can fix a backend mail/suppression problem for you.
