Hello,

I'm not receiving Bitbucket invitation emails.

A repository owner has invited me to collaborate, and the invitation appears as sent on their side. However, I never receive the email, including in my spam or junk folder.

As a result, I'm unable to accept the invitation or access the repository.

Could you please check whether my email address has been added to a suppression or block list, and remove it if necessary? If there are any other issues preventing these emails from being delivered, I'd appreciate your help in resolving them.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi @Krishan Bhargav

Do anyone having the same issue? then it must be something do with IT team on allowlisting and security.

And did you check account conflicts? Is any SSO setup?

  • Atlassian Account Integration?: Ensure you are logging into Bitbucket using the exact Atlassian ID associated with the invited email address.
  • Single Sign-On (SSO)?: As the email address belongs to a company domain that uses SSO ,verify that the Atlassian account was fully provisioned and activated before the invitation was sent.

Try these checklist

Step Action Item Responsible Party
1 Log into Bitbucket and verify primary email address matches the invite You
2 Cancel and resend the invitation Repository Owner
3 Log in via Atlassian ID and try accessing the workspace URL directly You
4 Check organisation email gateway logs / quarantine settings IT Administrator

Hi @Viswanathan Ramachandran
Thanks for the response.

I’ve checked all the mentioned points from my end. My Atlassian ID and Bitbucket account are set up correctly, and the primary email matches the invited email address.

I’ve also checked with the IT team, and they confirmed that there is no blocking or quarantine for emails from Bitbucket or Atlassian. Other emails are being received normally as well.

We’ve also tried resending the invitation, but I’m still not receiving the Bitbucket invitation email. So at this point, everything seems to be fine from my end and there doesn’t appear to be any email gateway restriction from the IT side either.

Could we please check if there is anything on the Bitbucket/Atlassian side that could be preventing the invitation from being delivered?

Yes, email preferences and having this enabled is a key too. I should have mentioned that. Strange that bitbucket works if this option is enabled.
