Currently, 2FA using security keys only covers access to the web UI.
For git+ssh access security keys are not supported ( eg ssh-keygen -t ed25519-sk ).
This forces the user to use less convenient passphrase protection for the private key, or decrease security by using no passphrase.
Note: github supports this since May 2021 ( https://github.blog/2021-05-10-security-keys-supported-ssh-git-operations/ )
Any plans to implement this ?
Hi @vlad,
We have a feature request about this in our issue tracker:
Since you're interested in that feature, I would suggest adding your vote there (by selecting the Vote for this issue link) as the number of votes helps the development team and product managers better understand the demand for new features. You are more than welcome to leave any feedback, and you can also add yourself as a watcher (by selecting the Start watching this issue link) if you'd like to get notified via email on updates.
Implementation of new features is done as per our policy here and any updates will be posted in the feature request.
Kind regards,
Theodora
