Suggest or require checks before a merge for bitbucket server

Using bitbucket server 5.16

Use case: Be able to apply the merge check Minimum successful builds for specific branches. As far as I can see, this merge check is only to be applied to all branches in a repo

I came accross this article which is for cloud.

Question: Is this functionality in bitbucket server, will it be otherwise, is there any vendor request issue for it?

Correct, currently on Bitbucket Server you can only apply this check on the repository as a whole. There is a request to have the same functionality as Bitbucket Cloud to be able to do it per branch, BSERV-5147. I would recommend that you go and vote for this request if you want it implemented.
