Stash Pre Receive hook development to get the local repo/ commit size

Hi Team,

I want to develop a stash plugin to check the git commit size or local repo size in pre receive hook. 

I am not able to find better documentation or example on internet to check the repo size.

It would be great if someone can help me to get started.
