Starred repositories after deletion

nougiz

Hello everyone,

I recently deleted some repositories I had previously starred.

After the deletion, the repositories are no longer accessible (as expected) but their names still show up in the starred list.

The problem is that I cannot remove such names from the starred list by toggling the little star (as I would normally do).

Does anybody know how I can get rid of them?

Thanks!

Hi, I'm having the exact same issue.

I've already tried clearing browser cookies and using incognito mode, but neither solved the problem.

Has anyone found a solution to this? Any help would be appreciated!

Hi @nougiz

Welcome to the community.

Could you try to refresh your browser's cookies and cache for Bitbucket.org and try to see if it still shows after?

Hello. Yes, I have tried already. Deleting the cookies and cache does not fix the problem.

Thanks

@Mark C you can easily reproduce the issue by:

1. Creating a repo ABC

2. Starring ABC

3. Deleting ABC

4. Opening the starred repos menu

The repo ABC will still be among your starred repos. At least that's what is happening for me.

Hi @nougiz

Indeed, I can replicate the issue on my end.

For that, I went ahead and raised this as a bug here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BCLOUD-24113

You can watch and click "This affects my team" so you'll be notified for updates.

Ok thanks @Mark C. While they fix the issue, would you be in the position to restore the repos so that I can successfully unstar them and then finally delete them again and for good?

I am assuming (but I might be wrong) that if they were brought back to life then the unstarring process should work as expected.

Thanks!

Hi @nougiz

If could give me the repo name(s), I'll see if they're still recoverable.

Mark C

Hello @Mark C

I think it's pretty much all the repos I recently deleted. So it's probably easier to just recover all my repos that are still recoverable.

Thanks a lot

Hi,

Starred repositories are usually removed automatically once the repository is deleted.
If they are still showing, it could be a temporary cache or sync delay issue in Bitbucket.
You can try refreshing the page, clearing browser cache, or checking again after some time.

So you are saying there is a delay between the moment when a repository owner deletes a repo and when the repo gets actually physically deleted?
