Sizing a database for Stash.

I've seen the Scaling Stash docs as well as other quesions and answers for sizing a Stash app server, but I haven't yet seen anything on how the Stash database server should be sized. We're in the process of purchasing h/w to support Stash for a large number of developers so I need to make sure we get the sizing appropriate from the start.
