Should I use the external Database?

I was wondering if I should use the external Database for a productive environment. Or is the internal one sufficient?

Yes. it is very important to use external database as the HSQLDB is very unreliable in holding huge amount of data and has been reported easily corrupted as it is a in-memory database.
