Sharing Bitbucker Repository

Sanele September 17, 2018

Hi there,

I'm new to setting up repositories on Git. What I did was install Bitbucket on my computer and created a Repo. Now the repo is hosted on "http://localhost:7990/projects/testproject/" (this is for testing, once everything works we will move the repo to the dedicated Server)

I have added a few users on the project's permissions. I thought, for the users to be able to pull the project on their computers will be as easy as sharing the link to my computer. but that deosn't seem to work. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks..

All I had  to do was:

Open a port in the Windows firewall

  1. On the Start menu, click Run, type WF.msc, and then click OK.

  2. In the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security, in the left pane, right-click Inbound Rules, and then click New Rule in the action pane.

  3. In the Rule Type dialog box, select Port, and then click Next.

  4. In the Protocol and Ports dialog box, select TCP. Select Specific local ports, and then type the port number of the instance of the Database Engine, such as 7990 for the default instance. Click Next.

  5. In the Action dialog box, select Allow the connection, and then click Next.

  6. In the Profile dialog box, select any profiles that describe the computer connection environment when you want to connect to the Database Engine, and then click Next.

  7. In the Name dialog box, type a name and description for this rule, and then click Finish.

HI @Sanele

Welcome to the community!

Could you please check with your IT/Network team, to accessing the repo from another computer you need to open the IP address so the others can access the Bitbucket through the hostname /IP address and they can be able to clone the repository on their own system.

Thank you. The trick was in the Firewall settings.
