One of my Bitbucket Free workspaces is read-only because it exceeds the 1 GB workspace storage limit. Before considering any history rewrite, I would like a server-side garbage collection and storage assessment.
An authenticated REST API check on 6 September 2026 returned 103 accessible repositories totaling approximately 18.30 GB (17.04 GiB). One repository reports 538.05 MiB on Bitbucket, while objects reachable from all of its currently advertised branches and tags occupy approximately 346.72 MiB in local storage. I understand that packing differences and internal references mean this difference is not necessarily reclaimable garbage, and that GC of this repository alone will not resolve the workspace limit.
Could an Atlassian staff member help assess ordinary server-side GC, report the before/after storage usage, and identify any references retaining otherwise unused objects? Please preserve repositories, branches, tags, and pull-request history; I am not requesting any deletion or history rewrite.
The workspace and repositories are private. Please let me know how to identify the relevant workspace to staff privately, or whether it can be identified from my account, without publishing repository names or source code here.
