Same SSH key for Sourcetree and Git Bash? Normal, reasonable, or not?

We are moving from a local bitbucket server to bitbucket cloud. I am working my way through the Atlassian tutorial on setting up SSH keys. They have nice sections for Git Bash and separately for Sourcetree, but it seems like the SSH keys generated for one cannot be used in the other. For example Sourcetree requires ppk file extension instead of pub.

I tried anyway. I generated a key pair from Git Bash and then tried to figure out a way to import said key into Sourcetree  and it threw an error ("couldn't load private key (unrecognized cipher name)").

I am new to using and managing SSH keys. So is it correct/normal to have multiple SSH keys for one user, just so they can use different tools?

Btw, I SORT of know the answer is false, because I also use Git Fork, and that took the key I generate in Bash just fine. Why is SourceTree different?
