Repository size reported as 376 MB but full mirror clone is only 656 KB

Several repositories in our Bitbucket Cloud workspace report sizes far larger than the actual Git data they contain.

One shows as 376.4 MB in the repository list. When I clone it with --mirror, which fetches every ref including branches, tags, and pull request refs, the result is 656 KB:

Welcome to the community.

I ran Git GC (Garbage collection) against the repository.

I can see it is now showing  27.6 MB.

Could you confirm the same from your end?

hi @Mark C  it worked. Thanks. also another service repo also crossed 100+ MB. seems same issue

It could be that the Support team would need to run manual garbage collection. 🧹
