Repository size keeps on increasing after deleting branches and garbage data

Hi Team , My repository size keeps on increasing after I delete so may branches from my repo. The repo size becomes 2 GB and I was not not push my changes because it went to read only mode. I deleted garbage data then repo size change to 2.7 GB and when I delete some unused branches around 20 branches I deleted the repo size goes to 4 GB. 

Please help to look into my issue

That you for relaying the steps you took along with the outcome you saw when attempting to clear out your repo. It sounds as though we need to execute git gc on our end to remove your accumulated garbage that needs to be purged.
