I tried to create a repo but it got interrupted in the middle of creation. Now the repo says it exists when I view all repositories but it will not load on browser and it cannot be cloned. I want to just delete it and start over but there is no way to do that since the repo page doesn't load.

Hey @Tara Umesh

Welcome to the community.

I have deleted the repository that was in a 'creating' state on our end. Please try to re-create the repository and let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Hi @Tara Umesh

Hi Tara! This is a known issue where Bitbucket Cloud repository creation gets interrupted and the repo gets stuck in a bad/incomplete state — it shows in the list but can't be loaded or cloned. Unfortunately, you cannot delete it yourself through the UI when it's in this state.

The fix: You'll need to contact Atlassian Support and ask them to delete the stuck repository from the backend so you can recreate it.

  • Open a support ticket at: https://support.atlassian.com
  • Mention the repository name and workspace in your ticket.
  • Reference the known issue: "repository stuck in creation state / bad state."

They can typically resolve this quickly. Once deleted, you'll be able to create a fresh repo with the same name.

I cannot create a support ticket because I am on the free version of Bitbucket. How should I contact them to fix this issue?
