Hello, I'm new to version control, I study mechanical engineering and I'm not 100 percent in this "cloud".
I already have my account created and verified for bitbucket and create a small repository which is for testing only.
The problem comes when I try to enter SourceTree from windows and it asks for an account in Bitbucket Server or Atlassian Account, I selected Atlassian A .. but it did not let me register with my gmail, then I went by bitbucket and successfully created my account, but when the window asks for the Root URL I do not know what to say since it does not accept the url I try to use (I do not know anything about being a novice prosperously). I need help to connect with SourceTree through my Bitbucket account or help me create an Atlassian account.
Hi Keny! If you already created a Bitbucket Cloud account you probably already have an Atlassian account :) You can go to http://my.atlassian.com/ and try to enter using the same credentials you have in your Bitbucket account.
If you're using Windows, you need to make sure Internet Explorer is updated to the latest version as Sourcetree relies on it for authentication. When it asks for your Atlassian account, you should enter the same email address and password you used for http://my.atlassian.com/, and later when it asks for the root URL you need to enter your Bitbucket URL (this should be something like https://bitbucket.org/<username>).
If you're still having issues, please send us a screenshot so we can see where are you stuck and we can continue helping you.
Cheers!
Ana
