Problems to delete a specific project

Luis Rodríguez August 6, 2025

I want to delete a project named "Gas Natural", but I cant't.

The reason is that a repository yet exists in this project. This repository has 0 bytes size, and I can't access to this to delete it.

Could I have this project deleted?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Luis,

Based on your description, it sounds like the repo in this project may have been stuck at "Creating" (so, the repo creation task failed). Such repositories cannot be deleted by end users, but only by the support team.

I see your account has access to several workspaces. Can you please let me know the following:

  • The last two letters of the workspace ID where this repo belongs.
  • The last two letters of the repo name.
  • In case I see that the repo whose details you provide is stuck at creation, if it's ok with you that I delete this repo.

Kind regards,
Theodora

Hi @Theodora Boudale ,

  • The last two letters of the workspace ID where this repo belongs => 'to'
  • The last two letters of the repo name => 'al' (inside a project named 'Gas Natural')

Thanks for your help!

Hi Luis,

Thank you for the details. I was able to find this repo and it was indeed stuck in creation with 0 bytes. I went ahead and deleted it, so you should be able to delete the project where it belonged now.

Please feel free to let me know if you need anything else!

Kind regards,
Theodora

Hi @Luis Rodríguez ,

Only the repository owner and repository admin(s) can delete a repository. You can also contact your Bitbucket system administrator for this.

To delete a repository:

  1. From the repository you want to delete, select Repository settings on the left sidebar.

  2. Select Repository details under the General heading on the left sidebar.

  3. Select the Manage repository dropdown.

  4. Select Delete repository.

  5. (Optional) Enter a URL in the URL to new location field.
Future users who try to access your repository will be sent to this new URL.

  6. Select Delete.

Hi @Rilwan Ahmed !

Thanks for your answer. I can't follow the steps you detail because the repository page never loads. It remains loading indefinetily. I think because of its size (0 bytes). With other repositories, I haven't this problem.

How can I contact my Bitbucket system administrator?

Thanks!
