Not understanding this news item about build CI

https://bitbucket.org/blog/build-information-from-bitbucket-pipelines-is-now-available-in-jira-software

It explains "information in Bitbucket Deployments and Bitbucket deployment information in Jira" and "continuous visibility from backlog through to release with Jira Software", shows a screenshot of a next-gen project, but then later shows a screenshot of the old-gen project with Releases... which isn't in next-gen.

I'm not understanding how this is supposed to work for a project between next-gen and old-gen... are we supposed to switch it back and forth to use these different features? I thought reverting to old-gen would make it not able to switch back to next-gen, but I definitely don't want to have to keep switching and disrupting the interface for everyone randomly when I need it.
