Hi Support Team,

I'm writing to report an issue where I am not receiving confirmation/invitation emails when someone invites me to join a group under the "People" section on Bitbucket.

The invitations appear to be sent by the workspace admin, but no email arrives in my inbox — I've also checked my spam/junk folder and found nothing.

Could you please investigate and assist with resolving this issue? Let me know if you need any additional information from my side.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,
Hiền

Hi @Phạm Nam Hiền _VinMotion-KTKPC-MB_  welcome to the community!

Adding someone to a group under Bitbucket's People section doesn't actually trigger an invitation email, that's not how groups work in Bitbucket. Groups are used to organise existing workspace members and assign permissions, but they don't send notifications when someone is added to them.

Invitation emails are only sent when someone is invited to join the workspace itself for the first time. If you already have a Bitbucket account and access to the workspace, being added to a group happens silently in the background.

If you're expecting to be granted access to a workspace or specific repositories and that hasn't happened, the admin should check whether your account has actually been added to the workspace (not just a group within it), and whether the correct repository permissions are assigned to that group.

Hi @Arkadiusz Wroblewski, thank you for your response!

However, I believe the situation is a bit different in my case. My company uses both Jira and Bitbucket. I can work on Jira without any issues, but I am not appearing in the People section of our Bitbucket workspace.

Our admin confirmed that my account is not listed there. When they tried to invite me using my company email, no invitation email was received on my end.

But when they tested with a different (personal) email address, the invitation email was delivered successfully.

I also checked with our company's IT Helpdesk, and they confirmed there is no email blocking on our side.

So it seems the issue is specifically related to my company email address not receiving Bitbucket invitation emails, even though the same email works fine with Jira (also Atlassian).

Could this be an issue on Atlassian's side — perhaps the email being suppressed or blocklisted in their system? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
