Noob question: change page layout orientation for an uploaded spreadsheet

I wish to upload and check in an Excel spreadsheet to my team, having two worksheets, in landscape mode. My result is, well, not as expected. Portrait mode, with what seems to be a larger zoom or font. And while I believe in reading the fine manual, I was hoping something so simple would be more intuitive. Am I overlooking something obvious? TIA.
