Mixe Cloud and on-premise products

iopsthecloud September 18, 2018

Dear Support,

I usually use your products on premise. However I'm thinking using your cloud version for a part of mu usecase. Is it possible to mixe your products (on premise and cloud) but with a single point to manage my users ?

On-premise I link product on Jira Software/Core so I'd to do the same with cloud/on-premise.

My plan is:

  • in the cloud: Jira Ops, Confluence
  • on-premise: Bitbucket, Jira Software

For the last one we're not sure yet if we'd like to be on premise or in the cloud but bitbucket have to be on our infrastructure.

Cheers, Renaud

Hi Renaud,

Jira Ops and Confluence Cloud can certainly be linked to Jira Server and Bitbucket Server.

You will not be able to use a Server instance to manage your users on Cloud.

However, you can use Jira Server to manage your Bitbucket Server users (see, Connecting Bitbucket Server to Jira for User Management).

Inversely, Cloud can only use its own internal user management, G Suite, or Atlassian Access. It can not be used to manage users on a Server instance. Per Link to Server Apps from Cloud:

Your Atlassian Cloud site can't manage users for server products. You'll have to use the server product's built-in user-management or a local Crowd instance.

Let me know if you have any questions about that.

Regards,

Shannon
