Hi everyone,
I’m experiencing an issue with my Bitbucket account and I’m hoping someone here can help.
Some time ago, I created an Atlassian account using my Gmail address with the standard email/password login. All my Bitbucket repositories were associated with that account.
Recently, I logged in using the “Continue with Google” (SSO) option with the same email address. Since then, when I log in, I’m taken to an account that doesn’t contain any of my repositories, as if a new account was created.
At the moment, I can’t seem to access my original account where my repositories are stored.
Has anyone experienced this before?
Is there a way to recover the original account or link/merge the two accounts?
Thanks in advance!
Hello @Luca Cazzetta
From my experience merge is not possible.
Atlassian ties product access and history to the account’s immutable ID, not just to the email text you type at login.
You must either try to log in with an old account or Contact with support. There's no other option.
As others have pointed out, please refer to this article - you've likely signed up for a new workspace and your old one still exists under an old email address:
Let me know if any issues.
Cheers!

@Luca Cazzetta this usually happens when Google login creates a separate account even with the same email. Your repos are likely still in the original email/password account, so try logging in that way or resetting the password. If that doesn’t work, Atlassian support can help you recover access.
