The account with the username "<redacted>" manages all the code developed by students in my lab "<redacted>." I am able to log to the "<redacted>" account on Safari and see all repositories. However, I have been unable to log to the account from either of Chrome or Firefox. They both expect me to provide an email address.
Sheryl (Jira) (advocates@am.atlassian.com) suspects that the problem may be caused by a "dormant" state of my account due to inactivity. She points to this issue https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Bitbucket-questions/Unable-to-login-to-BitBucket-via-Chrome-Edge-and-after-applying/qaq-p/1877272.
She recommended that I reach out to you.

Checking internally I see the account you have shared is not in Dormant state, as this would prevent logging into that account in any browser, and from the description you are able to successfully login on Safari.
To log in atlassian to access any atlassian product, including bitbucket, you will need to provide the atlassian account email and your password, not your username. The reason why Safari is just asking for your username is likely because it is using the credentials from the MacOS keychain cache.
If you don't remember the password of your Atlassian account, you can follow reset the password process, where you need to provide the email address, and a one-time-only login link will be sent to that email, which will allow you to log in and change the password to a new one.

Unfortunately, I am still unable to log to my account on Chrome and Firefox even when using my email address as username with the password that I use on Safari. I asked for a link by email to update my password. The password I use on Safari is rejected by Chrome on the basis that it was used in a security breach (*argh*, I hate passwords..). I changed my password on Chrome and will try now to login on Safari with the new password. I will let you know only in case I fail. Thank you.
