Is the password encrypted when sent from Stash to LDAP?

I need to know how the password is sent from Stash to the LDAP server.

We are implementing a secure repository and I have to get approval from our security team to use LDAP for authentication.

It looks like we will have to use LDAPS with another certificate to make sure the password is encrypted when sent to the LDAP server.
