Is it possible to setup Basic Authentication with static bitbucket.io webpage?

I want to publish a eclipse-plugin via update-site.

Is it possible to protect a static bitbucket.io webpage with basic authentication during the development process?

If not, can u recommend some other free static webpage hoster?

Unfortunately, the website can not be protected, anyone with the URL will be able to visit it. 

As per your last question, I'm not really in a position where I could give you any recommendations as I haven't needed those services myself, but I'm sure that a quick search in Google will provide you multiple solutions :)
