I upgraded stash from version 3.8 to 3.11, everything seems fine but still the console show 3.8v.

I had upgraded stash from 3.8v to 3.11v, everything seems well. But console still shows 3.8v.

I dont understand what is importance of installation directory? I had removed the new installation directory used for 3.11v but it sill works.

How exactly did you do your upgrade? As it seems, you are still opening up the old instance and you have not entirely upgraded. If you can provide screenshots on how you stop/start your Bitbucket server and what your config is, so we can pinpoint the issue.
