I have added a new project to a new local repo; how to I get it onto BitBucket?

Hi,

(Complete newbie alert!)

I have just created a local new project and added it to a local repository. What is the recommended way to get this onto BitBucket?

I found an answer that mentioned something about 'publishing', but I can't find this option anywhere.

All help gratefully (desperately) received.
